Currently live in MA, but that'll change soon. I grew up in New England, but I spent some of childhood in NC. My husband's from NC and we are making the move to Cary/Apex soon. Just spent a weekend there recently and we're about to make an offer on a house. Any former MA-ians have any thoughts about Apex vs. Cary?

Not a fromer MA'r, but a former (and future) Upstate NY'er, but I would suggest Apex over Cary. I've lived in both, and live in Apex now. Cary tends to be a bit "uppity" and they regulate a lot of what you can do with your property in order to keep the "beauty of the town" and the "quality of life". Cary is so anal about this, that they actually challenged mcDonalds and made history by making the Cary location the first one without the golden arches.

I'm from NY and I've been living in the desert for 18 years. I can't handle the cold anymore. I did actually live in North Bergen NJ for a year too.

I always thought that the desert got like, biterly cold at night. That's what I've heard from relatives who've vacationed in Las Vegas... that it's over 100 in the afternoon and then like below freezing at night.
