I've recently receieved a quote to move us from Woburn, MA to Waxhaw,NC for around $2300. It's for an 18L X 8.5W X 9H truck. I can get a 20L truck for an extra $100. It comes with $10K of catastrophic loss coverage. It doesn't include the actually moving in and out (I would need to get that help seperately, which I believe I can get for about $30/hr for 2-3 people on either side). I was hoping to keep it all under $7500, and could go higher if necessary (but would be very unhappy if I had to).

Seems like a decent deal to me. I'll post the co. MovEx. In case it gets deleted, I can PM you later. Anyone dealt with them, they seem pretty reputable and doing a little research, they've been around for many years.

Thank You,

Mike

Mmm labor in Waxhaw must be really cheap. So far quotes for movers (loaders) in Raleigh I'm getting are around $100 per hour for 2 people. Are you planning to hire not-professional movers? are they insured?

So that works out to $50/hr per person, which is reasonable. We don't have a lot of stuff (the quote I got was for 6 rooms) no lawn furniture or anything. I actually am still researching the NC end of it. The quotes I'm getting hear on the MA side are $30/hr/person insured.

those are good quotes there. best i found was $89 for 2 men, but that was in Boston where everything is overpriced.

quote for the truck seems reasonable, but PODS seems a less expensive. It costs less than $4K to move two 16'x8'x8' containers this distance.
