Emerald Mine http://www.hiddenitegems.com/
pay attention to the directions for Hiddenite. It's one of those "blink and you miss it" towns.

I have copied this from a previous post I had written:

Lazy 5 Ranch (Mooresville, NC). It is an incredible place. You can either drive your vehicle through (where the animals come right up to your car...or if you wish not to have animal saliva on your car you can ride on a wagon as well). You will be astounded with the various species and never in my life did I ever think that I would be able to reach out and touch so many of them. Lastly get a bucket of food for $2 you will be glad you did.

I looked at the Emerald Site. It is more expensive...is it worth it? Do you REALLY find emeralds? Since we are just looking for something fun and not really looking to strike it rich which would be the better option?

I suppose you'd have to have a lucky streak to find something of real value It's mostly a tourist/kid adventure kind of thing
