you may be right, I really can't think of something else.. the unit told me that there is nothing wrong or something to be worried about, they were very nice to me and confirmed that I didn't need to worry. I didn't want to embarrasse him with his supervisors so I just asked if everything was ok with him and explained who I was to them, that is all. I am already happy that he is not injured and that things didnt work out for us , is something I have to deal with, even though I want to thank everybody who helped me out and stood by me in a time of concern.
Then he's a no-class loser who desperately needs to grow up and you're better off without him, frankly. Sadly there are more than a few of those in the military. Good luck and be glad you found out now vs later!

those were my thoughts as well. if that is not the case, are you in contact with his family? I hope that all is well with him and if this is his way of saying goodbye then I'm sorry to say, but he doesn't deserve the worrying or the sadness brought on by his absence
