The climate is all over the board depending on where you choose to settle within the state. The average annual temperature at Southport on the lower coast is nearly as high as that of interior northern Florida, while the average on the summit of Mount Mitchell is lower than that of Buffalo, New York.
Employment is good. The current statewide unemployment rate is 4.6%.
