My husband and I would like to retire near a lake, is henderson or clarksville a nice area?
Is there other areas near lake water?
We are going to NC to look around from South Jersey in about two weeks. Any suggestions?

Go to lake Gaston instead. Gaston runs off Kerr and is a flood control lake, which means the water only falls and rises based on the VA power company(avg around 12 to 18 inches. Kerr changes as much as 2 to 6 feet or more, add in recent drought and its more of a issue. The surrounding areas of both places is very depressed. If your not right on the water not to nice. Gaston is higher priced but for reasons mentioned better lake. Clarksville used to be the home to Russell stovers Candy, when they left it got real bleak. Another choice is Smith mtn Lake...

I have a great retirement home in Clarksville if you're still interested. Best deal in town! 3 minutes from Clarksville bridge. 5 minutes from Oconeechee ramp. Everything inside brand new! Hardwood, granite and stainless steel. Give me a call or email for info and pics. I'm not a realtor. Thanks,
Tim
