roads/infrastructure (Charlotte: sales, how much, income)

I know this topic has been discussed a little here and there in other topics but I have read many areas only have one road in and one out, both in the charoltte and raleigh areas.....are they building new roads? how much wear and tear are the current roads experiencing? I can only assume that if more roads are needed or redo to those existing this is another area where funds will be needed and I wonder if this will effect the taxes? Toll roads were discussed and is one way to obtain dollars but I wonder if sales tax, income tax, etc may be affected in the future...any thoughts or has anyone heard anything?

Charlotte almost has a new large beltway/loop around the city finished. Most roads seem fine there to me.

Ok, later today, when I'm heading out, as I'm driving, I'll try to see the roads so I can give you an update on the condition!!! I'll be careful as I'm driving 65 MPH and sticking my head out the window! Too funny. Ok, so I'm a bit sarcastic too!!! Vicki
