Hello,
My husband and I are wanting to move our family from Michigan to North Carolina. He is a professional truck driver and Iam in school for Criminal Justice. We have two kids who are 14 and 11 so great schools are extrememly imortant. We now live in a semi - middleclass city about 30 minutes south of Detroit. Does anyone have any suggestions on a great city to move to? Thank You for any of your help.

Living in MI you know how the economy is. While NC unemployment is lower than MI, we have the 6th highest in the country. Please look for employment before you move.

Are you looking for something similar or different? In order to help you better, we need more information. What is your budget? What are your must haves? What are your deal breakers?

From TOS -
Quote:
When asking questions about a location, give as much detail as you can, so we can zero in on the info you need.

1.If house hunting, what is your price level or rental amount. How many BR's, Baths, square feet, lot size, etc, do you need? Pets? SFH, TH, Condo, mobile home?
2. In-town, rural, college town, military town, mountains?
3. Schools for children?
4.Gated community, golf course community, active senior community?
5.Do you need to stable a horse? Is there an RV or boat trailer to consider?

The more you tell us, the sooner our regular posters can reply with specificity. Same for any other criteria you have. Please avoid open-ended requests like "I'm moving to your city, tell me EVERYTHING I need to know."

Unfortunately a lot of truck drivers are being laid off here. NCgirl is so right, we need much more info.
