For those in the charlotte area, I have read postive things about the northern areas (lake norman, davison, etc) but I have also seen positives about the south (providence area)....what are the differences or it is just another one of those personal things...

I don't have any insight to offer, but I thought I'd express interest in knowing hte answer to your question, too, to bump up your thread. We're looking to relocate to teh area and it'd be an easier commute for my husband to live in the northern areas (Lake Norman, Mooresville, Concord, etc.) as opposed to Matthews, Providence, etc. in the south. At least, I THINK, it would be an easier commute. Sounds like rush hour traffic is pretty sticky no matter where you are! Any information on teh differences of these areas would be appreciated as well (schools, quality of life, young families with kids, small town feel, etc.)
