It's that time of the year where I start thinking about and
hoping to get a train in the snow? I have been able to get
a few train in the snow pics but nothing like I really want.
Until that happens here are three random train in the snow
pics...

Amtrak P092 in Sanford, NC...

A Norfolk Southern manifest train in Jamestown, NC...

This was the power on the previous Norfolk Southern manifest train above. Not only
a train in the snow, but a BC Rail locomotive in the snow!

Please excuse my train ignorance, but why is BC Rail 4604 operating so far south of the border in NC?

I can't give you a definite answer because I don't know myself? If I had
to guess and it's only a guess, Norfolk Southern was borrowing/leasing it?
If not that, maybe BC Rail was repaying Norfolk Southern some horsepower
hours it owed them? Either of those options happen often among the seven
class 1 railroads. There was a time not that long ago you couldn't tell what railroad
was what because they were borrowing/leasing so much power from each other.

Thanks for the answer. It does make sense and with the little sleuthing I've done you are absolutely correct.

I called a train buff I know and he confirmed via pictures several CN locomotives operating in NC in the past couple of years.

Your quote got me to thinking I have seen some CN power around here?
Sure enough I have this pic of one coming north through New Hill, NC
a few years ago on a CSX train...
