That's Cary Metro, which allows Raleigh to tag along.

The other thread -

Young couple considering Charlotte or Raleigh-Durham

I'm sure you can find plenty to do wherever you choose. I truly believe that only boring people get bored.

In the Triangle (or greater Cary to Charltondude), you have the option for a variety of nightlife scenes. Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill will each offer a different vibe and activities. I'll leave the specifics of Durham and Chapel Hill to others that are more familiar but I can speak about Raleigh because I live part time in downtown Raleigh.
The pub scene is actually really large. There are tons of options including:[list][*]Flying Saucer[*]Napper Tandy's[*]Hibernian[*]Pour House[*]Tir Na Nog[*]Dive Bar ....and others
There are also sports bars, casual bars, upscale lounges, dance clubs and lots of restaurants that turn into de facto clubs after dining hours. Essentially, one can wander from the northern edge of Glenwood Ave and pub/bar crawl by foot all night long into different places and scenes heading south toward the warehouse district. The Glenwood South and Warehouse districts are the two districts with the most action and one can walk from one to the other or take the free downtown circulator bus or ride in a bicycle rickshaw (free but tips stronger encouraged/expected). You can go more upscale at places like Solas or Mosquito, socialize at sushi or Lebanese restaurants, etc. You can hear live music, dance or attend a function at the performing arts center. On first Fridays of each month, you can join the thousands who stroll downtown's galleries for the First Friday Art Walk. You can chill at neighborhood bars like Brooklyn Heights, Mosaic, The Pourch and others. I don't think a young person would be bored with the nightlife in Raleigh. Come on a weekend and see for yourself.

I was dissapointed with the Raleigh nightlife when I recently visited. But I think my expectations were way off. I am from Boston and expected Raleigh nightlife to be small, just not THAT small.. even still, I am debating a move there. I would recommend a trip to check it out first.. Best of luck..
