I sometimes wonder if these folks have even worked in the IT industry here in Charlotte.
I stumbled across a forum in Employment thread where someone asked how long it took to hear back from Walmart after a job interview. There were certainly more than 10 unique contributors to that thread. That speaks for itself.
everyone talks about how close the ocean and mountains are but fails to mention the lack of functional highways to get there. LOL
Yes, the worst drivers in the USA.
Watch from 2:43 to 3:12 and tell me if this is the type of society you wish to live. Look at the look of death from the woman at 3:12. They could not give a care in the world, and it's not an isolated incident.
Traffic in most major cities is fast/aggressive. What I have noticed in Charlotte is lack to awareness. I see some of the most dangerous and mind blowing things done in cars around here. Stopping on the interstate in the middle lane and trying to get over to an exit (I85 at Sugar Creek), driving 10 under the speed limit int he left lane (everywhere) stopping in the middle of the road to let someone out or in during rush hour (Graham St), stopping at green lights to let people walk or traffic cross( everywhere), and tons of other examples. I learned to drive in Miami and yes it was fast, aggressive, tight, and crazy but the drivers here just plain out cannot drive.
At the intersection of Mallard Creek and Harris, heading South on Mallard Creek towards the Harris Teeter a person stopped in the middle of the intersection to allow a car to make the right onto Mallard Creek while they were on a red causing a 3 car crash. This is the type of thing that is mind blowing around here. Lots of traffic, fast, and aggressive cant be handled but stupidity cannot.

FYI, I'm pretty sure that you can ask in any city in the US, and they will swear to you that THEY have the world's worst drivers. Go to any C-D city forum and you will almost certainly find such a thread. We tend to notice what's around us at the time.

I agree but there is some seriously horrible drivers here. I am not sure if it is because of so many tansplants the different styles of driving not mixing well, people from the NE that never drove and used public transport having to figure it out on the fly, or the same for imigrants who are a large portion here in UCity and a lot of them are terrible drivers.
We very much enjoyed living in North Carolina. Raleigh area specifically. It was a nice stop along the way to our dream location on the gulf coast of Florida. Didn't care for how the tax/fee system worked out for us specifically and the winters were too cold, but overall I would rank it #2 or #3 behind Florida for us. Well worth it and great memories. Made lots of great friends.
BTW - The best drivers we ever experienced out of all the states we have been in were in NC.
I'll just add 2 of the most annoying aspects of driving around here... And make sure if you move here you understand #2
1. RDU Taxi drivers - they are absolutely atrocious drivers. Drive way too slow, merging on the interstate at 35 mph, etc. Horrible drivers that don't pay attention at all to what's going on around them.
2. People have NO CLUE what to do if the traffic lights go out. If the lights are out, its supposed to turn into a 4 way stop. Here, it turns into mayhem. People just keep going and going until someone from the cross street drives out into the middle of the intersection and then that way goes for a while.
I've lived in Missouri, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, and NC and RTP drivers are the worst I've encountered - by a significant margin.

Yeah the drivers in the RDU area are pretty bad/aggressive. I've lived in Massachusetts, Florida, California, New Jersey, Arkansas, South Carolina and North Carolina and the drivers here in NC are probably the worst/most aggressive. LOTS of tailgaters, even on one lane roads in the middle of a long line of cars. LOTS of left lane hogs.
