There is a big diff. In the revolutionary war, America won. Hence the American flag.

The confederacy lost.

That's the difference. ;-)


Heh, that's like saying if some dictator wins, or a bad form of govt presides, it's the right one.

The Confederacy had every right to secede. Lincoln was wrong to attack. I bet Washington and Jefferson would have had something to say to him.

This had been a good thread until someone had to divert it to a defence of the Confederacy, which was a creation of Southern agri-capitalists who needed massive slave labour, and a demagogic political class who represented the interests of those rich, selfish planters. The Confederate war dead are to be honoured unreservedly. Traitors like Jefferson Davis and Alexander Stephens should be held in everlasting infamy.
