quote=Frrrunkis!;13245314]Anybody know what this latest jobs bill that just passed is about? I heard alot of it is centered on unemployment, I just don't know what it entails. The only thing I did hear is that it'll entend EUC for all of 2010, instead of the old deadline of 4/4. I think. Then I heard whispers of additional tiers...beyond 4.

I dunno...one thing is for certain...I sure hope I'm not unemployed by the time I would hit Tier 4. But come to think of it...that may end up being late summer-fall...which frankly, will be here before you know it.

My main concern is with the pull forward next month...it didn't ease my anxiety when the lady told me she had no idea what a pull forward was. It's one of those feelings like you're going to slip through the cracks.

On another note...our big "award" for jdljr is quite simple...the "regulars", like myself, should contribute to the easier questions posed in this thread whenever we can. Believe me...there are 111 pages in this thread...with alot of repetitive questions that jdljr has had to go over and over and over again. It would drive me insane if I'm answering the questions. If there is an easy question that someone new posts...answer it, maybe even dig up an old jdljr post that answers it (if you can find one quick enough). If they want the "expert" to answer it to confirm...maybe jdljr can just use the thumbs up smiley if we're right on the mark, or quickly add to it. I've seen it happen...I know KC has answered questions to a few issues posed and I've seen jdljr give the thumbs up. It's quicker and it's easier on jdljr. Not to step on his toes or anything...but I just hate to see him answer so many repetitive questions over and over and over.[/quote]

I think that's an awesome idea!
I promise not to answer anything I don't know, unless I say I'm guessing at it, lol!
However your right, there are SO many repetitive questions here that we can all chip in and ease the load.
I know most will post directly to JDLJR when they need his expertise.

I hope that end of the 2010 year extension is a fact, WHEW!
Like you, I never thought I'd be unemployed this long, but here I am one year later......time flies when your broke

As far as the pullforwards from our first benefit year?
We're both in the same anxiety boat, ha!

Off to my RES in the am., sure wish I could muster some excitement for it

Have a blast tomorrow! I only hope you fair better than I did...they made it feel like I was in boot camp for the unemployed. But that's Raleigh, I guess...hopefully you'll be in the right office.

It is nice to see that all of the regulars on this thread are giving jdljr his own special "pull forward" after his triumphant return.

Don't hate Tom Janes because he's beautiful.

And yes, that pull forward remark was a double entendre.

Hello everyone.. I've been watching this thread for a while. My situation has similarities to some others but there are differences too. On Feb. 28th I filed online the claim for my last week of Tier 1 (which from what I understand should have made the Feb. 28 deadline).

On Monday, I could not file because I was just getting the benefits exhausted message. I called the number, and the rep said she would open my claim back up so I would be able to file online the next morning. Well, I was able to file and I waited until yesterday to see if I would be paid. I ended up having to call again because even with being able to file the day before I was still not seeing a payment going through. When I called, the rep. I spoke with said that the first person rep.did unlock my claim, but the system wasn't smart enough to move me on to Tier 2. He said he would send an email to his supervisor, and that his supervisor would be able to move the claim onto Tier 2 and release the payment for today.

I checked this morning and the pending payment is still not showing on the payment history like it normally does the day I will be paid. I'm stressed and confused. I do understand that a lot is going on right now and the reps for ESC are under a lot of stress as well due to the problems with the system. I just don't know what to do, or if I should just wait it out. I don't really want to be a pest and call constantly, but I am worried about when I will get my payment.

Exclamation not getting paid either!

Thank you so much for this thread and all who contribute to it! Esp Jdljr! I read the all the pages yesterday. before this I didn't even know what a tier was in relation to UI.

I am on my first benefit year, 26 weeks. I just exhausted those the begining of March. I received a letter stating I would get EB. I filed March 1st and didn't get paid.

I called the ESC and was told there was a computer upgrade and my file was one of the ones being worked on. They said call back Friday. Which I did and I got nowhere. So I went to the Raleigh office and was told I needed to make an appointment to see a claims specialist. Earliest appt - a week later. (Tomorrow). I was told there is nothing they can do and a lot of people are in my situation.

If I had had a clue I wasn't going to get my UI I would have set aside money or made plans . I called a couple of times this week and that is when I found out about congress, the senator from KY and this forum.

I also spoke with a supervisor at the ESC yesterday. He basically said that the EB bill was not passed, then it was, and that NC didn't have the money yet. He said my letter and the money sitting in my claim profile could be meaningless. He said all he knew right now was that my profile was being worked on.

I asked him about tiers and what tier was I on and he suggested I do some reading on the internet and maybe get a job. Seriously. I told him that was my primary focus every day.

All I know now is that i have an appt tomorrow at 9:45am with a claims specialist at the Raleigh office.

I believe this is the computer issue that I was told about.

Hey there,
Just got back. It wasn't too bad, Lasted around 3 hrs, then I have to go back again next week and talk one on one with the coach and at that time let her know if I'll be back for further training.
There was a heated discussion between (most)all of us in the orientation room as we waited for our names to be called in for our quick talk with our RES job coach.

Yes, one guy was going crazy in support of the KY sen., just because 2 of us were talking about things being voted on late and how it caused the system to go on hold ect.....
Wow, I'm,glad thy called his name right after that(lol)

It' amazes me just HOW many people know nothing about their benefits. I'm guessing at least 15 of them were clueless of how tiers work, benefit years ,base periods ,you name it... I was astonished. Our coach also said there is nothing being pulled forward.
I questioned that and she told me to schedule an apointment with a esc rep if I needed to discuss it and that she was only there for the RES program, ha!..... I didn't push the issue

The finale was when our job coach asked if any of us had 4 year Degree's and would like to apply for 2 immediate opening's at that ESC office(ha!)
2 filled out app's!
