Phones? Email? I thought the advanced NCESC is still communicating by telegraph. I figured out that "I need EB" translates to "beep-beep-beep beeeeep-beep beep beep beep".

That, and the messenger they hired who travels by horse between a claimant's house and the Raleigh office. He's doing real good too...he has now been the line of communication for 96 of the 38,000 claims. He should be by your house to be your line of communication to settle this matter by Christmas.

After calling back and holding for about ah hour, I spoke to a very nice young woman. She told me someone had already reopened my claim. I should expect a payment for this week and weeks going forward. When I asked about backdating to when Tier 4 ran out, she was unable to help. She could not tell me how many weeks I would have, but said to call back Monday to verify it was all completed.
Now I have hope.
And I hope everyone else has hope...and payments posted to their bank accounts!

Hello fellow irritated and stressed unemployed peoples. How are we today?
I haven't received any resolution for anything as of yet, because I haven't tried to get anyone on the phone, knowing that things aren't figured out yet.
Today I received letters #8 and #9. One of them is my eligibility review which I would have NO idea how to answer the question "has anything changed since I last filed", since a whole LOT has changed but not on my part.
I also received the Offset Receipt for OP letter which, as you know states how much they took, how much more you owe and how they will keep taking money until it's paid up.

I'm going to call after sending this post but I want to know if anyone has got their file back in order, where they will receive a full payment this coming week? I sure hope they don't continue to take 50%, as I'm in deep water already. I know, they don't care.
Please enlighten me as to any progress that has been made and what questions I should ask when I get someone on the phone. Thanks

latest update for me:
called ESC in Raleigh again rep said I was out of EB! i just received a letter yesterday stating I had $4800 in EB left. The rep said I had overdrawn on tiers 2,3,4 and EB and that they took all my EB to compensate for it. Now wtf am I supposed to do? $70 left in EB to get Monday and i'll loose half that. Even after they took my EB, I still owe $1600 right now.

i assume you mean 09 and 10. otherwise, you wouldnt be in this mess.

52 weeks from 3/09 to 3/10.
at full length phases...you had a full base period, all that?...
26 weeks of UI
20 of Tier 1
6 of Tier 2

30 weeks just passed from 3/01/10 to this past week.
thats...$1500 in difference from $350/wk to $300.
but, anyway.
if we start at 3/1/10 with the remaining 8 weeks of Tier 2, 13 of Tier 3, and 6 of Tier 4. thats 27.
so, payments being equal(they werent, i know), thats 3 weeks of EB.
17 weeks left of EB x $300 week...
if they were to take 5 weeks of EB to cover the extra $50 a week, that still leaves 12 weeks of EB.

granted, there's that dead week they didnt pay you, and i just went from 3/1/09 and 3/1/10, and there will be a week here or there...but still

i dont see how you can be out entirely.

yeah I meant 2009 and 2010. I dont understand either. I thought with all the extensions and extended benefits we all had close to 2 yrs. My claim was a regular active claim. I think I'm gonna call back either today or tomorrow and see if they can tell me how much was actually drawn from each tier.

looking at it a different way...
if there was nothing funky or unknown, and you had 27 more Year 1 weeks of EUC left, thats...
27x$300= $8100
and if you were going to get Year 1 EB, thats 20x$300= $6000.

if you got 30 weeks of erroneous $350/wk since 3/10, thats $10,500.

$14,100 left in Year 1 - $10,500 wrongly paid this year = $3600.
thats still 12 weeks of EB left.

if theres nothing funky in your claim.

naw my claim didnt have any issues. after talking to my mom who was keeping up with my fathers unemployment to the penny, she said that there were times when he was moved into a new tier uxexpectantly. as she figured it, he would get a partial payment as if it was at the end of an extension, but according to her he should have had more weeks before that particuar tier ran out. I'm thinking that maybe as the tiers were voted on and passed, raleigh rolled everyone into the new tiers and left money just sitting in the abandoned tiers if you know what I mean. That might explain why we're suddenly out of benefits.
