But never mind. The basic point is I'm more confident than ever that the 3-year look back will happen. There may be some wrangling beforehand, but the odds of a continuation (or reactivation) of EB is, I believe, UPWARDS of 90%!
i understand that there's games going on and I'm not debating here,, I'm actually asking for clarification.
Why would the democrats not like the budgets cuts,, if they fall off if there isn't a shutdown? As long as there isn't a federal shutdown by the end of the fiscal year then the 87% operating budget goes away. Is that correct?

I believe that HB 383 passed 29 to 19 and is being sent to the House for a concurring vote. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

This is the body of the emails I sent to Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate Leader Phil Berger:

As an unemployed citizen in North Carolina, I don't like you using me as a hostage to advance your partisan agenda.

Representative William Wainwright, in House Bill 676, introduced a clean bill about modifying the EB trigger for unemployment benefits. His bill is ONLY about the EB trigger issue.

You're attempting to coerce the Democrats in the General Assembly and the Governor into advancing YOUR agenda. You're playing political games while you have the audacity of accusing the Democrats of such. I am so ashamed of you Republicans. I hope you pay for what you're doing at the polls.

Sincerely,

That seemed truly genuine. I am more hopeful about things going through that I was last week for sure. This Forum has been a source of information and support.
