Yea, I just saw a story about it on WRAL where she said she was going to Veto the bill due to the state budget attachment. A sad day when she's more worried about her spending budget then 37,000 people who will now have no source of income.
I hope we receive official notice soon, but several tornados have touched down in Raleigh and severe damage and power outages may be contributing to the lack of information. There are still options available to the NCGA over the next few days, but as the bill stands now H676 has been defeated in amendment and other avenues such as negotiation is available.
I just hope we all remember who to support(or not) next election. 37,000 votes? Oh well, I can not believe this is happening. What are people going to do now!
There is still plenty of time remaining on the clock to reach a budget deal. The budget deadline is June 30, 2011. The bill does not include “double digit budget cuts” lol, it simply says that IF she fails to approve the budget, NC will not shut down like the US Gov would have, but remain in operation at 87% funding UNTIL such a time as the budget is finally… passed.
Casualties of the political games don't have that kind of time. They shouldn't be forced to participate in a game they didn't ask to play.
