It IS 100% federally funded since the passage of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and is through the beginning of 2012.

Wow Stephen. Those letters were pretty powerful and get to the heart of the matter for many losing unemployment benefits. I just hope it gets to the heart of some of our lawmakers. How can they read that and NOT feel some obligation to stop playing games and do what has to be done?

I feel for your situation Stephen. Hang in there buddy. Things will turn around. They just have to. God bless.

Thank you for the clarification, sacflies. Yes, people, EB is 100% federally funded. We hope for and anticipate some action on this issue here soon. Keep all hope up and continue to call and e-mail members of legislature and Perdue.

Default Read this little tidbit

Under the Dome | North Carolina politics blog from The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C. | newsobserver.com projects

Read the article about cinco d mayo, and representatives passing around little Mexican flags.

40k people not eating obviously not on the schedule for this week. We knew that though. It is a slow(beyond slow) process. Five conservative democrats voted with the Republicans to pass the budget through the house. They want this thing to be over-with and the Governors Veto to be over-ridden. It sound like representatives are tired of Governor Purdue's heavy handed vetoes. She keeps pushing and pushing education, education, education!! She was previously on the jobs, jobs, jobs, bandwagon(the minute "NC was leading other states out of the recession" and "created multiple jobs in NC"). Purdue is selfishly looking out for her next election. I WILL MAKE IT A POINT TO NOT VOTE FOR HER.

She states that when it came down to the wire those five democrats would be on her side. I don't think so. They switched sides on this issue for a reason.

This budget bill has to go to the senate next week, and then be re-bounced back to the house to approve changes. After the budget is re-negotiated yet again next week. We might see something happen with EB.

I know, I know, I sound like a broken record, and I am losing optimism.

North Carolina General Assembly - Senate Resolution 673 Information/History (2011-2012 Session)

Adopted today, but not enough time for the good people of North Carolina in need.

Thanks for sending that, I didn't know the Act of 2009 extended it through 2012, because the most recent extension had wording in like it was put back to 50%.

Either way it should be a easy fix but we are living proof that our country is broken politically and financially.

Well, at least they got SOMETHING done!

Nice job!

This is all really mind boggling. Completely perplexing. Incomprehensibly inconceivable. Incredulously outrageous.

It's like our lawmakers are living on another planet...Planet Ignoramus.

Typical of politicians that have a steady income. Never a 2nd thought about those that do without.
