It's pretty bad that the only thing that gives me any kind of peace through all of this is knowing that pretty soon the US will be insolvent. Then EVERYONE will be feeling the pain that I am.
Everyone but the elected officials bringing in at least $432.00 a day for 40 minutes worth of work.
I hate to say it, but I have reached my end point. I am going to take my $30 I have in my coffee can and put gas in my car and head west. Basically I'm doing a Tom Joad. I look at it this way...I can wait to be homeless here due to the GA, or I can be proactive and take my chances across the US. It's a roll of the dice either way, but I feel that controlling my own destiny is the best course to take. Good luck to all of you in your fight, I wish you the best.
if by chance you are still on here Rangerbob, I just wanted to acknowldge your post and wish you luck, I'm starting to side with you. I can spend all day begging Berger and Perdue to do something through emails, phone calls and media splashes but the fact is I have done that for over a month now and neither side are showing any signs of HEARING me. I hope the issue is resolved but the fact is the longer this goes on more of us will have to check out in order to survive.
You must hold out until July 1st........this will be the turning point if at all. I can say that if it does not happen by then I really don't think it will at all.
Thank you for hanging in there. No progress yet today. Editorials continuing to blast the Rs on this issue around the state and more on line today. Rick Glazier
Well let's look at it like this, house republicans are voting today to allow states to use extended unemployment benefits to pay back federal debt. Now if ,as a republican, you knew that and felt that you had a good chance to get it passed would you release all that money to the unemployed or wait until bill was passed and then free up the 30 million? Each person averages $232 a week, at 4 weeks for 40,000 people that's about $37,000,000 waiting to go somewhere. I hope this isn't the case but with the way that the political game is being played these days I wouldn't rule it out.

I agree 110%, it is looking more and more like we will not see another dime!
I will be very surprised if that passes. But, I'll admit that I was also thinking that the state GOP leaders might be hoping it does so they can act.
