I may be on the other side of this issue. If we aren't going to expel illegals, then I would rather have them educated as long as they pay for college.
I agree hokiehigh! I'd rather see them in college than becoming new members of MS-13 and SUR-13. Even so, the amount of illegals that will be paying out-of-state tuition rates is probably so miniscule that they could all comfortably fit in a broom closet. I doubt that many people will take advantage of this in its current form. I'm in favor of giving them in-state-tuition rates. While this may upset more than a few people, I believe in the long run, it may produce the best results for all concerned. A few grand shelled out by the taxpayers is cheaper than maintaining a prisoner in an NC jail at $26,000 a pop! What does NC and society in general, benefit greater by? You pay the taxes, you make the choice!

Now they will be able to take our higher paying white collar jobs too.
You got that right. Saying they just want to do the jobs americans dont want to do is total BS.. We need a workers permit like they have in canada,,NO permit= No job
Funny how Myrick runs her mouth like that when she doesn't vote on state law. She is member of the US Congress and not a member of the NC Legislature. On her record on the issue, she has done absolutely nothing to stop the flow of illegals in this country.
As I heard on the radio this morning. What is the point of allowing them access to our colleges when they must commit identity theft or document fraud in order to get a job.
Yea, thats right lets make some room in the prisions for legal citizens that commit crimes trying to support there families when there are no jobs for us out there. Maybe they will eat and sleep in a dry shelter.
This is an ugly, xenophobic, ignorant and bigoted thread; a sad commentary on the mentality of Americans. Very few people posting on it, however, which may say something encouraging about the prevalence of these attitudes.

Most of the posts are not xenophobic, just commenting neutrally on the issue, which was all over the papers here this morning. It would be different if each and every one were griping about it.
