My wife and I are going to scout some area potteries in preparation of her sister coming down the second week of October, and are looking at the Seagrove area.

Are there many potteries in Seagrove or will we find them between Sanford and Seagrove?

I had driven out past Sanford going to Eldorado (Uwharrie) and remember seeing quite a few pottery signs along 42..

THANKS

There are tons of potters in the Seagrove area. Look at this website for more info@seagrovepotteryheritage.com their phone number is 336-873-7887. They have a great brochure with a good area map they can send you.We loved our visit. Expect to spend the entire day. While you are in the area, you might enjoy The Southern Supreme Bakery. A wonderful family owned and operated business. Here is the website www.southernsupreme.com It is well worth a visit. Hope you have a great time!

The NC Pottery Center is a great place to start your visit to Seagrove. Their web site has a directory of potters, not just for the Seagrove are, but for the entire state of NC.

There are at least 70-80 potteries in the immediate Seagrove area. Highway 705 is the main road that runs through the area, and many of the potteries are either on or just off this road. You could spend days visitng all the local potteries.

WOW!! 705 is chocked-full-of potters!!! It WOULD take a few LONG days if we wanted to visit all the potteries. At least a few weekends...
Not a lot open on Sunday but those that were had lists of area potters, and who is open Sundays and Mondays. Spent a lot of time at Wythe pottery (explosive colors! ) and found out Tuesdays or Wednesdays seems to be the best day as some potteries are closed on Mondays..

We are anxious to get back there in the coming week to do some great shopping for upcoming birthdays and Christmas!!

THANKS!!
