I have seen an ad online for a job with Sentry Insurance, supposedly there is a bilingual call center in Goldsboro, NC. I can't find ANY information on it through google.
Can someone confirm this for me? Does it really exist? How are the jobs there?
There is another in Rocky Mount When I went to our Transition Assistance program at Seymour Johnson AFB they had a rep from there on the employer panel. They don't make much and it did not really appeal to the veterans who were getting out of the service or retiring (like me).
You can read about Goldsboro in some old threads. It very rural. There is some activity because of the Air Base but not much. It does have Wilber's BBQ real NC BBQ cooked on wood not gas.
If the ad I saw is true; 40K is a very good salary for Goldsboro. There is a large hispanic population so the job is probably much needed.
I am aware of the AT&T call center already-that was all I could find information on. Maybe the Sentry Insurance center shares the facilities?
In any event, what seemed "off" to me was that this is the location for the bilingual Spanish English department...and when I checked the demographics for Goldsboro it is around 3% Hispanic, and neighboring counties are rural and have at most a 15% Hispanic population, which seems low to me, although that could be high for a state like NC I suppose.
I am just wondering if and where the Hispanic area in Goldsboro is that they have this specialized call center there. Anyone with any knowledge?
If th epublic schools are any indication. The population of Goldsboro, and Wayne COunty (and Duplin and Greene) are way more than 3%. Maybe that 3% just refers to legal, census counted residents.
There is a Sentry Insurance call center.. near the YMCA. You can apply through their website or through like CareerBuilder.. they always have listings from what I read some of the positions start at $13.00/hr. but I think most are part time.
