Visit the Biltmore.
Ride the rapids anywhere!
You know we've only been here two years so it really is pretty much see the whole state! But those are the top ones.

I have done all that except ride the rapids and I think that is too dangerous. I may have missed one lighthouse.
I have experienced the entire Blue Ridge Parkway and I highly recommend it.
What I want to do is see all the outdoor dramas in North Carolina. I wish they would all get together and have one ticket for them all at a special rate.
One thing I will probably never do that I wish I had the nerve to do is walk across the mile high bridge on Grandfather Mountain.
I have ridden the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, but have never been on Tweetsie. I also want to ride Amtrack to visit my daughter and her family in Virginia. She lives within walking distance of the Amtrack station there.
Sunny, you gave me this idea. I have a picture I made at the North Carolina-Tennessee border that gives the distance to Manteo. I would like to travel on N. C. Highway 64--Maybe from Ducktown, Tennessee to Duck, North Carolina instead of from Murphy to Manteo.
Then I would like to travel on 421 from the Tennessee border to the end of N. C. at the Atlantic Ocean. I think I have been on every mile of N. C. Highway 74 and I-85 and I-95 and I-77 and N. C. Highway 16.
I want to visit all the public gardens in the state.
Here is a website with mostly free places to visit throughout the USA, but just click on North Carolina for some more really good ideas. http://www.stateparks.com/usa.html
Check out the mountains, too. Hanging Rock, Grandfather, Pilot, Stone . . . . ad infinatum. Great hiking trails, wonderful camping, magnificent scenery. Check out all the little "towns" along byways. Visit historic towns and follow historic markers (many have history but aren't well known).
