I am a teacher and a few years away from retirement. I intend to relocate to NC after retirement. I want to buy a townhouse next summer. I have visited Charlotte last summer, I looked at townhomes and I liked Charlotte a lot. But then somebody recently suggested Raleigh. Is Raleigh as beautiful as Charlotte? I like busy city life and places where there are a lot of things to do. Which one of the two do you recommend?

Reason: I have a typo in the title: "fro" instead of "for"

Fro relocation? You're looking to relocate your hairdo?
Seriously though . . . imo, Raleigh is more beautiful, but Charlotte is "busier".
"Things to do" depends on what "things" you're into. Charlotte has a professional football and basketball team; Raleigh has professional hockey.
Charlotte is probably more metropolitan, but Raleigh has lots of shopping and restaurants and such as well.
You'll have to go and see for yourself.
