Hello All,
I am a 24 year old female from Virginia and a recent graduate of Virginia Tech. I am new to the North Carolina area. I recently got a job in Yadkinville. I am not sure if I like such a rural area. If i choose to live alone, what area would be suitable that would not be too far from Yadkinville. Lewisville and Clemmons seem like nice areas. Any opinions/suggestions/ potential roommates? I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Thanks,
Virginia girl

Well we're Virginians living in North Carolina, and I grew up in Lewisville, but it has changed massively since I grew up there in the fifties.

Growing Up in the Fifties and Sixties

Based on some recent quick visits, I think you would like either Lewisville or Clemmons area. The access is easy from 421 and you're also close to Winston-Salem. Of course I don't know the area well enough these days to suggest a specific place.

We're actually from Roanoke, and I have worked as a consultant for VT and was at Webmail.us in Blacksburg for a year.

We have lots of relatives in Yadkin County but they tend to live in clusters out in the country which is probably hard to do if you're single. One of our relatives runs a bridal shop in the area.

I have a friend who still lives in Lewisville, I'll send him a note and ask if there are particularly good areas for singles.

I don't know as much about Clemmons, but our ministers from Covenant Presbyterian in Roanoke had their last assignment in Clemmons so I'll also drop them a note.

Good luck on your job and finding a spot to live. When you decide to visit the Carolina coast for that traditional NC beach vacation, make sure you try the best kept secret in North Carolina, the Crystal Coast and the beaches of Emerald Isle and the Southern Outer Banks.
