I am interesting in relocating to either Raleigh, Cary area or Charlotte, Huntersvills NC areas. This will be a start over for me and my son. Can some one speak to me about both areas and let me know what the social seem would be like for a woman in her late 40s?
You should add Wilmington to your list. I moved here from Boston a few years back and really love the area. The cost of living is easy, and the beaches are great. Downtown Wilmington is a great kid of hipster town with a lot to do.
Have you checked the Asheville area? We have two vacation rentals in the area, Chimney Rock and Saluda, and we love to go there as often as we can. We have kids and they love all the rivers, lakes and hiking!
Both the Charlotte and Raleigh areas are very nice. Better crime rate and colleges in Raleigh area. More to do and a little lower cost of living in Charlotte area. Can't go wrong with either.
