Yep, I worked for a non profit who had to help folks who came here unprepared and ran out of money. It was very sad.
It brings to mind the story from my childhood, "Dick Whittington", he thought the streets of London were paved with gold. The reality was a great disappointment to him. I cannot tell you how many I've heard of who thought they could come here w/out job and were very surprised when they couldn't find one. Fortunately, these are outnumbered by the folks who come prepared.
