I saw this sign at Walgreens this afternoon. I've lived many places that have been under "state of emergency" for various reasons (winter storms, hurricanes, etc.) and have never heard of this. Anyone..??

GOOD FOR HER
I was leary of her when she was elected. I thought she would be another governor
who only cares about eastern NC
but I saw her state of emergency speech yesterday on News14
and from her heart you can tell she Cares about North Carolinians

When did this go into effect? My husband was able to purchase beer around 1PM today. Or does this only affect the ABC stores?

The sign I saw was at Walgreens. I did not see one at the grocery stores and I did see people buying beer this weekend. So.... maybe not everyone is participating in this "ban"?

I was out at a packed bar with a friend last night in Chapel Hill. Plenty of alcohol being sold there.

You might want to check this. I don't think this is right. I just got back from the grocery store. Plenty of people were buying beer and wine. I haven't heard anything about a ban. Why would there be?

Come to think of it, I've never been in a Walgreens that sells alcohol.

Hey, all I can tell you is, we saw the sign at Walgreens today (I know they sell wine, maybe beer too?). When I asked about it, the young girl behind the counter said they were told yesterday to put the sign in the window. I thought it was strange too. That's why I brought it here to all you good people.

Yeah, we would have heard more about this if it were true. Methinks the manager of that Walgreen's had some sort of agenda and is attributing it to the governor. If you go back there, take a picture and send it to a news channel to investigate.
