We are thinking of relocating to North Carolina. We are a bi-racial family and my friends who are older are interested in moving with us. We need a place that isn't too humid in the summer where jobs are plentiful. Got anyplace like that in NC?

thanks momof5

Not really I'm afraid. Oh, you would find no problem being a bi-racial family in the cities, like Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville or Wilmington - but forget finding a place in NC without humidity.

Air conditioning has been vital to the development of NC but you just aren't going to get away from humidity.

Humidity is about the same statewide with year-round averages of 65%-75%. However, normal daily high temperatures do vary greatly from the mountains to the sea. About a 20+ degree difference.

I live in Florida and hate the humidity...the heat is ok, the sun is ok, but I melt in the humidity...surely it cant be worse in NC???? I guess as long as the summers are not so long.....

Nowhere in NC - try upstate NY. It's not even summer yet, and the temp is 91 & 35% humidity.

Not any place that isn't humid. Today you could have just melted.

No, I don't think she is. It's quite a common question to be honest.
