Me and a couple of friends are looking to move to the southern US from NY. We are all 23/24 years old, recent grads looking to step out on our own. We have degrees in Business/Sports Management and Social Work. Looking for a safe city for women on thier own, but has shopping, good nightlife, diverse culture. Any suggestions would definately be appreciated!

If a good nightlife is of importance, you'll probably want to stick with the major cities, Raleigh/Durham or the Charlotte metro.

The best place is wherever you find jobs.

Hey darlin, ain't all cities safe? No matter where yer at, you gotta keep both eyeballs open at all time,'cause ya just never know! Here's what you do. First, ya pick your city. And I'm assuming you'll be doin plenty of research and finding out what they all got as far as the proper cluture and shopping(of course!) and nightlife(day life?). And the crime rates and all. And the job oppertunities. And the weather. Hey, so maybe you'll have a job lined up maybe you won't. I know for dang sure if I was your ages, that would be the last thing on my mind!! But I think I'd have to have some kind of good savings to keep me goin for a while. Well, maybe! So, Ya got your city picked. Then, do some diggin, find out the nicest, safest areas. Go live in one of them! And while you dug, You'd be finding out the nastier, not ot so friendly places. Avoid those! There ya have it, and remember--Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person is a little like expecting the bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian!
