Assuming that the oil gushing out of the pipes in the Gulf Coast will be picked up by the Gulf Loop Current as is expected to happen in the next few days. The oil from the Deep Horizon well, would be heading to your state with estimates that it could possibly effect all coasts as far north as Cape Hatteras before mixing with the NAO.

Now I wonder how much this has been discussed in NC, because at this point it is more than a probability that the oil spill will be spreading up the east coast via the current.

they will have it contained by containment buoys to prevent it spreading that far.

It is good news for North Carolina Fishermans though

It's been mentioned in some news outlets, but it won't really be a major topic of discussion here until the oil actually makes it around Florida (which hopefully it will never do).
