Plenty of people have commented on the weather and on small towns. Just wanted to answer the NFL question. I'm sure there are people who love football, but by FAR the sport people love (to the point of worship? ) is HOCKEY.
A few things to consider. The population of Orrin is 22. It is no longer an incorporated area so that means no city provided stuff. Like Snow removal. You will be about 3-4 miles from the nearest maintained road. Expect to be snowed in for most of the winter and probably without Telephone, Electricity or TV.
Anticipate the worse and be prepared. Be certain to have at least 2 vehicles and one of them being a 4RD 3/4 ton or bigger pick up with 4Wheel Drive, a snow plow and tow attachments. Anticipate the possible need of getting a tractor and or a bob-cat. Be able to live off the gird for at least several months out of the year. Do not expect any entertainment of social life except for that you yourself provide.
It would be an ideal location for my wife and myself, but not anything I would encourage for most people.
Also keep in mind Pierce county, (The County Orrin is in) has a population of less than 5 people per square mile. It is about 1,000 square Miles and has less than 5,000 people.
