You'll likely be staying in a hotel and sharing your room with someone else, no bringing family or pets.

With Schlumberger you can have no felonies or DUI's. If you have anything that would come up on a background check you MUST tell them about it. Their well services division (frac) recruits out of state and rarely takes walk ins, you're best bet is to go to their wireline division.

I've heard that Baker Hughes is now paying out a "cost of living/rental assistance" amount on top of regular pay. Word has it that it is $1,500 a month but I'm not entirely sure on that.
I was just saying that working for Halliburton/SLB is really not a "truckdriving" job. If you want to haul water, that's a truckdriving job. Lisan23 has a good point with SOS. I have had some contact with them too. That would be a quick way to get going.

Franklincole - Too bad that pic you posted right now still has 10 feet of snow and MUD galore! Nice pic, but that's not reality right now in ND.

Lol, they're all short on drivers right now, though. My husband is technically an operator but he spends a huge chunk of his time driving things to and from locations because they don't have enough people to do it and he's one of the few people in the shop who's gotten his HAZMAT.

I agree, that pic makes it look pretty. Last year I drove some pizza out to a location, they're almost never that close to a paved road! And they can get soooo messy.
