So I figured what the hell may as well apply, they probably dont really recruit out of state. So I submitted my resume and they called!!!!

Well its a staffing agency who is doing direct hire but she said she is submitting the resume with recomendation for hire. Its an awesome opportunity and Im very excited! Just wanted to share!
This is a pdf of a copy of Talkin the Bakken, it is put out by Williston herald newspaper, on their online web page, under "special sections" has some very nice info, lots of names of co. and their contact info, hope it helps

I dont need a lot of days off consecutively, just a little time to rest every so often. So theoretically it is 2 more days working per month. But here is what I want to know, I have heard different situations for different rotational schedules, im assuming you didnt get paid for your time off, correct? So I like the idea of 4/3 because there is a constant flow of money. What did you do?
When I said my initial experience I meant that I was offered a job in the same manner as you. I didn't accept it because it wasn't enough hours.

As far as the money, there really is no significant difference in pay (assuming 12/hr days at $20/hr the 2 wk rotation pays you $60 more), so it is just whatever you prefer.

As far as flow I would simply deposit all my money into an account and pay myself a set salary each week. So if you are earning approximately $4240 under the 2 week schedule just dole it out each week (or every two weeks) as if you were on a 4/3 schedule. The money is the same. You just have to manage it a little more closely.

On the other hand, if you prefer the 4/3, it is costing you $720 a year (before taxes). That may or may not be worth it to you.

The $60 difference x 12 months. To me, after taxes, it seems pretty much a wash.

So from what I understand the consensus seems to be that I should take a lower paying job just to get started and to get some experience with a company and then once Im working and in a better position to get out and search for a good good job. The job im being considered for, im reallly excited about the prospect of getting on the right track to get my life and for my family..but I really want to work on the advancement of my "career" in the oil industry. If the company I may be working for doesnt offer advancement I may look elsewhere to achieve my goals.
