Hi - Any woman on here who work or live in the man camps? whats it like? Any one bother you? Get along with everyone? How do the locals treat you? ok? is it warm in the corridors, is it somewhat quiet in the sleeping rooms? Are people in town and at the man camps nice, or sort of annoying? Thanks!
There were a couple threads back in Nov. that had video and interviews w/ women, several that work in and/or live in mancamps. Not sure, search the threads for all of Nov. in N.D. section, re: women in oilfield. Also, pretty sure it was msnbc that did some interviews also. hope this helps

I have a question about man camps. Is it true that the workers have to find alternative housing for their weeks off?? Someone there in Williston told me yesterday that she and her husband had talked to a man recently, and he said He had 6000 in his pocket, but no where to sleep during his 2 weeks off, because of the housing shortage, and that the man camps he stays in require you to leave during days off? Is this common??
Looks that way, and without a subsidy it is too expensive for an individual unless you are cranking out the really big bucks.
