I got a call from a guy who has 2 years here. He said the offered him 11.50 an hour and housing. He wants me to call them since I'm a newbie and see if they offer a per diem.
I understand being a newbie and getting your foot in the door....but $11.50?? I may call them just to find out so dude can stop calling me.

Any info on Artic would be good though..
I would run far away from this sort of poor offer in the oil field.
You can work at McDonal's or Taco John's for $15 per hour... and never even heard of Artic Oil Services being in the Williston Basin...they have their offices in Glenrock, WY and their website said they service the entire Rocky Mountain region. But the only office listed for contacting them was in Glenrock.

For 11.50 an hour you better go back home. Can't see anyone moving across the US for less than the McDonalds employees are making. Don't even consider it. IMO
After getting the below response from them, I'm not even going to consider it. Thanks for all the info/suggestions.
1. Are bonuses paid? Are there any benefits? -We do not have paid bonuses. After 6 months with the company you are eligible for our health benefits.
2. Are there any pay raises? If so, how often? - Evaluations are given after the first 90 days, and then yearly from that point forward. Pay increases are given based on Job performance.
3. What locations in North Dakota are you currently hiring for? -Currently we are hiring for North Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. As far as where are locations are in North Dakota - We are between New Town and Killdeer at this time.
I would have nixed them at 11.50 Hr. Between Killdeer and New Town is exactly nothing. You'd have to be based out of Dickinson, unless they have a mancamp. And you're still going to Dickinson, or New Town for anything you need. Killdeer is very small, about like Stanley. What would they pay in WY?
Not sure what WY would pay. They said they provide housing. I considered just using them to get to ND, what some money and apply to other jobs that pay more.
You could, but it might be a bit harder to get more money if you've worked for 11.50 hr. I wonder if things are bottoming out in pay like it was predicted last fall. Hey like anything else, what the market will bare....the market is inundated w/ folks living in 3rd world conditions here now, willing to work. It's like everyone has shot themselves in the foot. You'll find something else. Apply at sanjel, halliburton, saw lots of info on another forum, 4 job fairs this mth in Williston area.

Did they say they provide housing at no cost? $11.50 is pathetic but if the housing is free... it might be a foot in the door for you. Sometimes the housing provided is as costly as finding your own. Just sayin'. I know of 2 trucking outfits in Watford that don't compare wage-wise but when you look at what they offer for housing it evens out. Still sounds like a crappy deal so far.
