My mother was born and grew up in Milton, ND and lived in a large home on the outskirts of town. Her father, Charles Plain, was a farmer and merchant in Milton. Her mother, Agnes Plain, was active in the community. Charles built their home around 1905. I am curious whether this is the home referred to in DoriKate's post in Jan 2010. I am planning a trip to Milton in late September to look for the home and the family burial plot on the property. I would like to contact anyone who may have information about the house and the family. The home was owned by Fern and Charles Stabo in more recent years. [Mod cut]

Hi, Peggy

I believe I know who owns that house and has for several years now. Fern passed away in 2003. Send me a message on here and I can give you that contact information.

Too bad you are not able to be in Milton this weekend as Milton/Osnabrock is celebrating their 125th celebrations with many activities thoughout the weekend, for a tiny town(s) the celebration should draw quite a crowd.

Hi Peggy,

I contacted the lady who now owns the house that your grandparents owned.I used to work with her and thought that was the home she now owned."small world" She would be very happy to visit with you and learn about the home and hear the stories of your mom growing up in it. She said she was very interested in the family plot on the land and was wondering if you had any idea where it is located?

She said for me to share her e-mail address with you when you contact me here. If you want to private message me here I can share it there. She is excited to hear from you...

Herbie and John owned this property together and also held the mineral rights to it. Does anyone know of this family or any info on The Dell in milton??
