We have all of those things in fact... Unfortunately, we don't have covered wagons and we don't have milk in glass jugs... ND isn't just one small town, but most communities are rural. We aren't "isolated" and we arent unexcepting of innovation, in fact, our school in our lil "hick" town is probably way more innovative than yours ever was. Our school has provided a laptop for every student grades 3-12... So don't even try to say we "aren't accepting innovation" or that we are so far behind the rest of the world. We are right up there with you, if not ahead of you.

I am originaly from Fessenden, and I can honestly say I was one of them kids who couldn't wait to get out of Fessenden. Now that I am gone and living in a bigger town I miss the small town atmosphere. I would love to move back to Fessenden. Some people may think this town is nosy and snobby but what town honestly doesn't have a few of them. They make the community. I tried to talk to the original poster many times that I was home. My brother include their son in stuff if they were playing some sport in a back yard and he always came out. Once school started my brother said that they try to be nice to him and befriend him but he would just walk around like he was better then everyone. The kids in the town may drink but its not like you will find them out drinking every night or weekend. Everyone has drank and a young age and I don't think others should be looked down upon. They were very nice people but your rarley seen them out so when they would come up people didn't really know who they were and didn't know what to say. I seen the kids alot that summer and I was always nice to them, I would give them a ride if their mom wasn't there to pick them up. So you can't say that we are not friendly ppl if you were in a bigger town that would never happen unless you really trusted them. I am not trying to write this in a mean way but there was no reason to start this thread in the first place.

Oh my god, I am so happy I stumbled upon this thread. This is f'ing PRICELESS (I nominate wide_ride for Poster of the Month btw). If this thread is closed I'll be very sad. *chomps some popcorn*

It's too cold to sit on the porch and play banjos up here, dude.

To jrmontag:
I believe you are thinking of the deep South, not up North here. I've never seen a banjo in my life - and that's a fact.

I'd tell you it's a metaphor but I'm afraid that's going to be useless.

It's not a metaphor; you are just insinuating that we are hicks...

Read through this entire thread and then try to make a decent argument to convince me otherwise.
