Yes we need an immediate cap on house price in North Dakota. NO one should have to pay over $100,000 for a house. It should be law.

I agree, there should be a cap. And if you want to pay less than $100k, that house should at least include 2 bathrooms, I mean, come one North Dakota! One bathroom? Ick. My husband and I just now have two bathrooms since moving on base and I LOVE it. I will never go back.

Putting a cap is like putting a cap on groceries and clothes. Supply and demand sets the prices.

As for bathrooms, as a once volunteer EMT in the 90's, I responded to a home where the owner, approx 75 years old, was having a heart attack. When I asked what prompted the heart attack, he told me that his wife was not spending another winter in ND without an indoor bathroom. They were still using the outhouse in the backyard. He was trying to build an indoor when the attack came.

I also think that every house should be required to have a heated jacuzzi hot tub in the bathroom. It is very cold in North Dakota in the winter, and it is the best way to warm up.

Why in the WORLD would you have an outhouse in north dakota?! I mean, realistically, would you go to the bathroom for years and years in -40 winters? I think not. And I don't think my demand for 2 bathrooms is ridiculous. Especially when you have guests come and stay. Who wants to wait in line at your own house while 5 people have to use the bathroom?! That is sweet that he was building an indoor bathroom, though. And I agree with the hot tub!!!! An indoor hot tub as an outside one would probably freeze lol

I want my own hot tub and sauna. (It's not going to happen.)

Could we throw in mandated servants and a personal chef as well? Of course, there needs to be servant's quarters. Oh yeah, and we'll require an indoor theater with surroundsound. These things are rights.

Well of course, it's the American Dream and we all deserve it!

The market will charge what the market will bear...

I recently moved to a nice part of town, (up the hill from Belair school), near the campus, got 2600 sq ft, 4 beds, 3 baths, for just over 200K. That doesn't seem unreasonable. Sure, we have some painting to do, etc..., but that's part of the process. The problem is that you have to be quick on your feet and buy the 1st or 2nd day the house is on the market.

And having the government regulate housing prices really is a ridiculous idea..... I know of very few towns where you can get a decent house for 100K, and I've lived in Texas, UT, NY.....
