Bottineau isn't bad, its a 15 minute drive to Lake Metigoshe. I'm not sure if the school has a swim team or not. The price of housing isn't bad, its cheaper than Minot or Bismarck, but as for museums there aren't many in the state, but if you're willing to travel a little in the summer, Medora is a nice place to visit, there is a heritage center in Bismarck, Lake Sakakawea. Bottineau isn't too far from the International Peace Gardens and has a very low crime rate. There isn't a lot for shopping there but there is a Walmart.
