Hello all! I'll be in Bismarck in a few weeks and am spending a month there. I was hoping someone could give me some advice?! I grew up in the area, so I am semi familiar with the area, but its been years since I've explored the area and I did not have kids so I was not thinking about parks an stuff.

Where are the great parks for young kids? For kids under 4.

I doubt it, but are there any free splash pools for toddlers (hey, laugh at me...but I did say I doubted it!)

Ant diners/resturants that I need to eat in that may have not been there 10 years ago?

Any places I should take my kids to?

THANK YOU!

Not FREE, but Bismarck did build a nice new splash pool for the young kids, and the kids seem to love it. There is also a small pool so the kids can wade and get wet. Bismarck has a nice biking and walking path system that connects many of the parks and neighborhoods...you might enjoy walks with the kids on the paths in the parks along the river. There is also a nice zoo (Dakota zoo) it is open year round. Sertoma park also has a small amusement park with rides for little kids, they might enjoy that. Take the kids over to Mandan, they have a small but nice water park with the big water slides and lazey rivers (but maybe not for kids under 4). Space Aliens would be a fun restaraunt for the kids...it is designed for both young and old with a space theme. There are a lot of national chain restaraunts also to pick from. There is a lot of new shopping available in Bismarck that has come on line in the past couple years, so you will have a nice selection for stores, etc... good luck, I'm sure you will find your months stay enjoyable.
