Things pretty much started this weekend, as you probably know. Lots of frantic building of emergency dikes, and today, schools & colleges cancelled so the kids can help sandbag, main roads under water........
Here in Valley City we're still good, but many towns in this area of the state not so much.
So how long does this go on? I recall Iowa City getting hammered for weeks.
It depends....the Red is notorious for prolonged high water with snow melt so some sites may be above flood stage for a month....granted the most severe high levels will not last that long.
ya great page i know in winnipeg the Red is kinda high, i was in Grand Forks on Saturday and its about the same height the Red River Valley should be fine i got a photo i took when i was driving lol my bad , but there was part of I29 under water and i could only use one lane .
The Red River valley 2010 flood is winding down with many sites now below flood stage. So you can remove this sticky if you wish. Thanks!
