Hi Northeast PA,

Hope you locals have some insight.

We will be traveling to Honesdale in several weeks from Northeast NJ to bring our oldest son to camp. He needs to be there on a Sunday afternoon, so I thought we could break the trip up and enjoy 1 or 2 nights (Fri or Sat to Sun) in the Poconos relaxing by a nice outdoor pool (no site-seeing necessary) together. Our kids are 7 & 14.

So far theses were the choices I got:

Woodloch Pines - $2300 for 2 nights although it looks gorgeous and is really close to where we need to be, it's too pricey.
Skytop Lodge
Great Wolf Lodge
Chateau Resort
Camelback Mountain Resort

Any thoughts on the ones listed? Any others you can recommend? The reviews for the last three on other websites have been all over the place.

Thanks in advance.

The last three are the farthest from your destination, but Great Wolf and Camelback both have waterparks. Great Wolf I believe is a little more expensive. I have never stayed at either hotel, but have been to both water parks, and I prefer Camelbeach because the water park is outside.
I like to sit in the sun as the kids go do their thing...and I really like the lazy river! Have fun

My sister works at Skytop. I think the property is beautiful and, activity wise, you can do as much or as little as you like. They also have sled dogs there now and I just read that they will run in the summer as well as winter with some kind of wheeled sled. The dogs are beautiful and very friendly. Skytop also has geocaching which sounds like fun!

Skytop is gorgeous and kids love it........there is a climbing wall back by the pool area.
It is a little off of the beaten path, but well worth a stay there.

I have stayed at the Chateau and love the two level rooms....Not as glamourous at Skytop but near Camelbeach and the Outlet Mall.

Great Wolf is an interesting place. Pretty new to the area..........It has an indoor waterpark that the kids love. It is a beautifully made building.....I love its gift shop and enjoyed its great dinner area.

Look at the websites as all are different, but nice. You picked well........
