Just another example that the Mafia is alive and well in the USA and now they are in bed with the pols ... Screw the taxpayers , its all about greed .

Cant wait for the hookers and the pimps , shylocks and pawnshops , ***** bars and all the elements that go along with it . Atlantic City's neighborhoods look like they got a lot out of the casino's there, ( is a hell hole slum ) PCP fits right in with Mount Airy .. I'll stay deep in Northern Wayne county where we dont have ghetto's and drive by's .

Plus 70% of the workforce hired to run the tables are not even from the area , so much for local hiring ..

Ehhhhh....correct me if I'm wrong but both WB AND Scranton have drug problems, prostitution, pawnshops, etc. Not sure what you mean by "shylock"? Do casinos make people start walking around like Shakespeare characters or what?

I'm not sure about the workforce at Mohegan Sun, but I know I read an article in TL about some local women who were now table dealers.

Shylock is a loanshark ..

usually very high vig ( interest ) and if you dont pay , They break bones .

Well WB and Scranton may have those bad elements , The area where the casino is is NOT like that . But on its way there. Paradise township used to be a sought after area to build a home .. I bet thats all changed within a few yrs

As a former resident of that area, I will respectfully inform you that you are woefully incorrect.

Good for you. I stand by the fact that drugs and prostitution existed in that area long before the casino came into being. Pull your head out of the sand.

Even so, casinos will only make the problem worse.
