Hi everyone.. My husband and I just moved into a development in Dingmans Ferry. We are looking to do work on our house, and the building department just told us we need to get a survey - to show exactly where the house sits on the land. Can anyone recommend someone? Also how much does this normally cost? Thanks in advance!

loriann642,
I hope that somebody gets back to you - I am curious how much a survey cost today. You might want to locate you property pins yourself before you hire somebody. If you can find one; you should be able to measure and find the rest. Many times they will set light poles very close to the property pins - that is usually a good starting point.
Fifteen years ago; I lost one of the many pins around my property. It cost me $300 just to set the one pin. I mark all of my pins every few years to prevent that from happening again. A can of florescent spray paint and some surveyor’s red ribbon do a good job. We also have taken many digital pictures of the pins; just to make sure nobody moves them.

A survey could cost anywhere from $375 - $575.. it depends on the surveyor.
