Just got back from the store to get some stuff for dinner tonight...

The Weather people whipped the Hoi Polloi into a frenzy as usual with words like 'Massive,Mammoth, and ginormous storm'...

Bottled water, Milk and Bread as well as bacon ( why bacon? do people have bacon parties when it snows ?) are being pulled off the shelves...

I live directly across the Delaware near a bridge...the River is 600 yds from my backyard..about a Mile from my house is a Gas Station...at 10 am there was a line of cars about 30 cars long, all with Pa. plates waiting for gas...

First, they don't have to get out and pump their own, actually they are prohibited from doing so by NJ State Law...but the price is the real draw...1.45 per Gal. for regular...Can't beat that with a bat..

My BMW and Jeep Cherokee were filled on Monday...I never let either car ever go below half a tank, only because if there ever is a major meltdown of society which is very plausible these days I want to be able to get outta Dodge City in a hurry...

got my 'Bug Out bag' packed and ready at all times too...$500 cash in small bills,( gas stations, store owners etc. will choose cash over plastic in a meltdown, and ATMs will be empty or down..) pistols, mags, extra ammo... important documents, MREs, water, cellphones...survival blankets, always ready to roll.

I live in a leafy suburb, but the 'Congo' is just a short 4 miles south of me ( lovely Downtown Trenton NJ) and if there ever is a melt down of society ( Terrorist attack, Racial riots and unrest etc.) The Zombies from the city will be heading straight in my direction...

I can be on I-95 in 3 minutes with a hearty 'Hi O Silver !' :--}

So, I don't fear or prepare for a storm, I prepare for Armaggeddon...
and on this cheerful note, I wish you all well in the upcoming storm of mammoth, monstrous, and Biblical proportions...

Don't forget the Twinkies

OK; so when are you coming home? Happy New Year to you to!

Just one quick reminder about that "bread and eggs thing" we don't allow profanity - Think Spring!

As it is; it looks like the brunt of the storm will not hit us - just DC (they deserve it)!

If you're going to buy eggs, milk and bread, I think there's got to be bacon.

I'm not packed and ready to go, but I have a list and everything I could possibly need. Yes, there's got to be cash, blankets, food and gas in the car. Don't forget tools.

I filled the tank on Friday. I have plenty of food to grab and go. I carry a P38 on my key ring. There's already an emergency box in my car with a solar blanket, marine flare, waterproof matches, first aid kit, etc.

Today, I bought mushrooms, celery and eggs. That's all I needed.

If my power goes out, I can still cook on the gas range. If I have to leave, I have a Coleman stove and a single burner.

I've lost power twice in February during storms. The first time, my husband and I had just bought a house in an area (town, county, state) with which I wasn't familiar. He was away on business for the week. That was cold.

I'm not worried. Probably, everything will be fine. If not, I'll go somewhere else.
