Bosak was widely known in the area for heading a coven,it was no secret, I think they were known as The Wimberly Witches.. he also did card readings and from what I remember he was pretty good at it.. He also did a animal sacrifice on or about Halloween..

I would like to know as well. I'm a long time believer in Ghosts (having grown up in a haunted house in the Bronx, NY). But the one problem I have with Auntie's story is where she mentions there was an 'active coven'. Not quite sure what she means by that since modern day wiccans and witches do not call up angry spirits or demons. So I wish she'd come back and elaborate.

Ooops I should have read ahead. I'll have to look this stuff up. I am a Witch and neither myself nor any witches that I know would either call up a demon nor do we sacrifice animals. Sounds a bit more like Satanism to me.

it was not wiccan covens they were talking about and as i found out later from joe bosak himself his coven was very much dedicated to satan--killing my belief that all powers to predict came from God--i was so naive then

i worked with a practicing wiccan in the 70's in the least expected place--a catholic hospital

she was able to be comfortable enough to talk about it changing some of the very negative ideas i had about practicing wicca

I'm glad - because neo-pagans and wiccans do not believe in Satan. And many times people are still confused about the difference between a Satanic and Wiccan coven. People will look at my Pentacle and ask me if I am a Satanist (Satanists use an upside down or sideways Pentagram).
Wiccans are also not anti-catholic (another misconception).
I'm sorry you had this bad experience though. This is one reason I don't use a Ouija Board..fear of calling in a malevolant spirit and not being able to get rid of it.

Actually I'm still in NY (Queens). I'm on these boards because hubby and I are planning to move to NEPA by next Summer. My daughter is at Muhlenberg College. I must say I stumble on some very interesting conversations here.

The reason I ask is that I recall reading about the house in West Pittston that was terrorized by a spirit and personal property inside was actual moved, tossed and destroyed and physical harm brought upon the homes occupants.

i wonder if those things still exsist and not meaning to offend ,i hope,do go in the daytime and keep something religious on you if you don't mind that---a rosary,small blessed crucifex-----if you do venture onto the area and are not sure---the creek may still be there--and if it goes directly out to the main road,then you will be in the vicinity of the cottage

i thought i had mentioned that last night as the thing followed me down the stairs and oit the door,it did not touch me,but once i got into the car,i felt a large thing hit the roof and begin continuously banging on it----when that didn't make us stop(my boyfriend was driving)---something began to cover the front windshield entirely as though a bird with a large wingspan was trying to land on the hood--i never did so much praying and screaming in my life----this continued until we reached the white church,pulled into the parking area next to the steeple with the cross---and with a final thump on the front window and another glimpse of the most horrible face the car attack stopped--we took off for the nearest hospital as i was a screaming mess and mr unbeliever (the boyfriend ) was shaking---off topic---we married later and he banned the kids from EVER watching ALL horror movies
