Sure, compared to NY/NJ, taxes may be relatively inexpensive. Compared to other areas with the same standard of living, taxes throughout the area are expensive. I guess it's a matter of our individual perception.

While I appreciate your concern over my financial well-being, I would still think that the average tax burden in the area is out of control regardless of how much I made.

I know several people in PV that pay $5k+ in property taxes. That is insane, in my opinion. I actually left Monroe County when I bought a house just because the tax burden was significantly lower in Wayne County.....but it's quickly catching up with it's southern neighbor.

All in all, though, I like the Saylorsburg area and would definitely place it near the top of my list if I were going to move back to Monroe County.

Cause if you do it'll be like Tobyhanna in 10 yrs .

Wouldn't even give it ten----people are leaving NY in droves .

Up where I live you can not build a house Unless you have 2 acres of land ..

Land up here is pricey .. Unless you buy a farm and part it out the chances are slim to none of any droves of people building up here
