So i was holding off on learning exactly what this Home Rule thing is supposed to be. What i learned is that the voters have no direct control over who they want to run the show. The people they elect then in turn get to appoint people to do the operating. Doesn't sound too fun to me.

Can it be worse than what Luzerne county has produced on its own?
Corrupt judges
Corrupt school boards
Corrupt county commissioners.

I just clicked on the poll "Undecided" LOL. Less than 24 hours and I do plan to vote and I still haven't made up my mind. I have people pulling me in both directions. I kind of agree that maybe we need more than the three but is putting Mike the Plumber next to Suzy the waitress in a Genetti's room the answer?

Lets see you will have a board of 11 people doing favors for their buddies, you tell me? If anyone has at least one cell in their brains, they will recognize over the years a pattern in Luzerne County:

Each candidate promises to stamp out corruption.

Each candidate has a high chance of themselves becoming corrupt.

You should know by now NO ONE in the system is a saint. Now people want to elect a method of government that allows for 11 more politicians to be put into positions to become corrupt.

This is LUZERNE COUNTY. HELLO.

You have to be an idiot if you think voting for this on the "Well anything has to be better than what we have now!" bandwagon is in any way logical, and you think this is going to make everything better again.

Welcome to Luzerne County. Nearly every Home Rule supporter I know shares this belief. Most haven't even looked at the charter, but they are voting in favor of it because "it can't be any worse than what we already have in place" (and NOTHING else). We need more people like varmintblaster who actually RESEARCHES an issue before voting upon it. I personally hope Home Rule FAILS to spite the majority of its supporters who haven't even read the charter! How can you in good conscience vote in favor of something you don't know the inner workings of?

I've personally read the charter and think it has more advantages than flaws; however, I can't in good faith align myself with a "bandwagon", either. In 2008 I was one of the only ones I knew who voted for President Obama over Sen. McCain for a reason other than "I hate Bush." I did EXTENSIVE research into BOTH candidates and DID almost vote in favor of McCain in the end. The future of 300,000+ people is at stake tomorrow in Luzerne County. Vote informed.

Yes, because everyone who voted for Obama was oh so uneducated.

Once again, disagreement does not equal not understanding.
