People in NEPA say that? There's no end to the madness. It gets worser and worser.

New here...reading this thread and laughing out loud...I see it got a 'bump' recently and came back alive...
Some real funny comments.

I didn't know the that the posters mentioned varmint Blaster and Coal boy were banned...
So, if people are banned from this site, another poster is not allowed to mention their name(s)?

Just want to clarify this..I read the rules carefully and did not see this mentioned.

Of course, I want to obey the rules.

Almost all of us have been censored at some time in the past. We get carried away on a subject and 'forget'. Or we get far off the subject and have to be reined back in. The Mod will not ban you for getting off the subject; especially if you are humble and acknowledge your mistake. They will 'clean' up our post. The problem comes where people become belligerent and insist that they have to have a 'say' or they want to insult the others on the forum.

There are forums that do work that way - but not this one. My feeling is that the rules help make this a great forum. If you want controversy you can politely take some opinions to the 'Politics and Controversy' US forums on City Data.

But: Welcome to the forum!

PS I enjoyed Varmint Blaster

I was a lurker on this site for several years.
Recently signed up.

I remember posts by Varmintblaster, Coalboy & Others who are no longer here.
I think the loss of all of them have lessened the entertainment value of this forum.

If I recall correctly, the sad part is they backed up their statements with verifiable facts.

They had conservative blood in their veins, and as our President described, they liked to cling to their guns & bibles.

It's a shame that a man who promised a nation that he would unify it could so easily insult an entire region of people.

I guess gun & bible owners are not covered by the PC doctrines that run this country & this forum.

Tread lightly

Thanks Fisheye,
I was reading one thread that went back quite aways where you were having a tete- a -tete with a former resident of WB who thought the streets were paved with gold when they moved there...then had some unfortunate incidents where they moved out of the area.

Not going to mention their names as it might be against forum rules...

But anyway, to your credit, you handled yourself civilly in that exchanged and raised some good points.
I was born in WB (Miners Mills) and moved away when I was 7 but made tri- yearly visits back to visit relatives until about 17 years ago....

Really, really sad to read what has happened to that area..I was kinda shocked...
But as Thomas Wolfe once said, 'you can't go home anymore.'

PS...I have received a few DMs about the two posters I mentioned in my first post and found out they were both pretty popular here...One was practically a legend, a local hero, and the other one was known for his, as one member said 'wicked wittiness'
Both apparently ran afoul of the Mgt.

I'll endeavor to keep a low profile, and obey the rules.

From what I am reading from Draketrutta's posts, he seems to have a handle on the local WB political scene here...he must be a long time resident, and sick of corruption.

Again I am appalled at what I am reading about my birthplace...used to be like an oasis for me to come back to visit. But on the other hand, there still seems to be some real nice places around...

I don't want to get this thread locked for going off topic, so here is a few heynabonics I remember;

Chimiley instead of Chimney
Cut of pizza- Slice
Cat- lick- Catholic
Mat-riss instead of Mattress
Pilla- pillow.

Heyna?

Last comment I'll make about Varmint Blaster and Coal Boy - they were racist, vulgar posters who ticked off a lot of people. If those are the people you'd like to emulate Sneaky Pete, you might want to find another forum. The DM's they sent me and other posters were way over the line. A legend? Right. In his own mind, maybe yours.

Don't be that careful. We're looking for a little excitement. C-D will give a demerit or ban you for a week if you misbehave. They're very forgiving. I've gotten a couple of points. I try to behave myself, but sometimes I get carried away.
